About Striva
"Currently leading the ideation and initial pilot phase of a women-only two wheeler taxi service. The project focuses on solving the safety gap in last-mile connectivity for women commuters in Tier-2 & 3 cities. Key Milestones: •Primary Market Research: Conducted surveys with women commuters to identify pain points in daily travel. •Operational Strategy: Designing a model for reliable and affordable point-to-point transit. •Empowerment Model: Planning a platform that provides sustainable earning opportunities for women drivers. The project is currently in the prototype stage, focusing on refining the service based on user feedback."
Problem Statement
1. The "Safety & Comfort" Gap in Transit In Tier-2 cities like Gorakhpur, the public transport infrastructure is often fragmented and male-dominated. Women commuters—especially students and office-goers—frequently experience discomfort, harassment, or a general sense of insecurity when using overcrowded buses, shared autos, or ride-hailing services driven by men. This "safety tax" often forces women to limit their travel or choose more expensive, less efficient modes of transport. 2. Lack of Affordable Last-Mile Connectivity While four-wheeler cabs are too expensive for daily commuting, and e-rickshaws are restricted to main roads, there is a massive void in fast, point-to-point, and budget-friendly last-mile connectivity. Women need a solution that is as agile as a bike but feels as safe as a private space. 3. Underrepresented Female Workforce in the Gig Economy The booming gig economy (delivery and taxi services) remains 99% male-dominated in smaller cities. There are very few platforms designed to provide women with a dignified, safe, and flexible way to earn. Traditional platforms fail to address the specific needs of female partners, such as safety protocols and transparent earnings. 4. Economic Exploitation through Opaque Commissions Existing aggregators often use complex algorithms and hidden fees, leaving drivers with low take-home pay despite long hours. This creates a trust deficit between the platform and the partner, leading to poor service quality and high attrition rates.
Solution & Value Proposition
1. 100% Women-to-Women Network We eliminate the "safety barrier" by creating a closed-loop ecosystem. Since both the driver and the passenger are women, we provide an immediate sense of security and psychological comfort that male-dominated platforms cannot offer. This encourages more women to step out for education and work without hesitation. 2. Affordable & Hyper-Local Transit By using two-wheelers (scooties) as our primary vehicle, we offer a service that is 30-50% cheaper than traditional four-wheeler cabs or private autos. Scooties are perfectly suited for the narrow and congested streets of Tier-2 cities, ensuring faster, point-to-point last-mile connectivity. 3. Financial Empowerment through the 83/17 Model We solve the "income gap" by offering a highly transparent and driver-centric revenue model. Driver Retention: By allowing partners to keep 83% of the fare, we ensure they earn a dignified and competitive income. Low Entry Barrier: We assist women in entering the gig economy by providing a platform designed specifically for their needs, including flexible hours and safety tech. 4. Technology-Enabled Safety Features Our app isn't just for booking; it’s built for protection. We incorporate features such as: SOS/Emergency Buttons linked to local authorities and our central hub. Real-time Ride Tracking for family members. Verified Profiles to maintain the integrity of the women-only community.
